Fundación Jakober

The Fundación Yannick y Ben Jakober is a non profit making cultural foundation, created in 1993, for the promotion of the arts in general and painting and sculpture in particular, by way of exhibitions and the disemination and exchange of information and knowledge in this field. The Fundación owns an important collection of Old Master and contemporary art especially centred on Portraits of Children dating from the XVI - XIX centuries and contemporary photographs of Royal children. A good part of these Old Master portraits are exhibited in the Fundación’s building outside Alcudia and can be visited by groups of 6-30 people. Other pictures form part of travelling exhibitions. The garden of Old English Roses can be visited during the month of May each year. The guided tours of the Art Exhibition and/or Rose Garden are by appointment only and cost 6 Euros per person, children with adults are admitted free of charge.

The Fundación is also specialized in the work of the painter Domenico Gnoli (Rome 1933 - New York 1970) and has an important archive on the subject. The most recent Gnoli exhibition organized by the Fundación was at the Galleria Civica di Modena, Italy from 28 January to 6 May 2001. The Fundación owns works of Contemporary Art shown periodically including: Takis, Rebecca Horn, Gerhard Merz, Marina Abramoviƒ, Antoni Miralda, Meret Oppenheim, Miquel Barceló, On Kawara, Alan Rath and Ben Jakober / Yannick Vu.
